Northeastern at Drexel – Pregame

In spite of losing 4 straight, Drexel remains in contention to avoid the play in round. They are one game behind Northeastern. Ironically Northeastern comes to the DAC today. Somehow, in spite of Drexel failing in “must win” games, they have now reached the “Crossroads”. I could have gone with the song “This is it, make no mistake” but in honor of Ginger Baker’s recent passing, we must honor him with Cream’s version of the blues classic. I do not have much to write here.

The Huskies began conference play as one of the faves. They began 3-0.  Bill Coen is a genius but his less than stellar talent finally caught up, and they too, endured a 4 game losing streak. Northeastern, then beat both UNCW and College of Charleston. In their last they took a shellacking at the hands of Delaware who this writer predicts will represent the Colonial in the NCAA tournament.

In game one Drexel went to cold Boston and got avalanched. Both teams enter today’s game on thin ice. However, Bill Coen’s teams have a way of winning the big ones. Unfortunately for the Dragons, I think class will show.

  1. I’ve seen enough- Spiker has to go at the end of the season. His teams have actually gotten worse throughout the season. This team has fallen off a cliff
