The #DragonsDraft

What if Samme Givens posted up Frank Elegar?

What if Dom Mejia and Trevor John spaced the same court?

What if Phil Goss and Chris Fouch traded buckets?

For Drexel fans it didn’t take much to start these debates over the past 15 years. It just took a global pandemic to finish them. With March Madness wiped and looking for an excuse to catch up on Zoom and talk hoops, a few of us organized the first ever #DragonsDraft.

The rules were simple – 8 teams would draft 5 starters plus a 6th man, broken up 2 guards, 2 forwards, and 2 wild cards. The pool would feature only players who suited up for DU over the past 15 seasons (sorry Robert Battle).  Each day for the next 7 days, Twitter polls will decide the winner of each matchup between two teams, in a single elimination 8 team bracket.  Polls will go live each day around 12 noon, and voting will run through 12 noon the next day.

Vote for the team you think would win in a real game … or the team that features more of your favorite players. Take chemistry between players into account (too many ball handlers!) or don’t. Just enjoy the memories, vote every day, and feel free to take part in the conversation.
